Cheeky. But it has been hot, and I’m allowing myself. Underneath is a saki martini recipe called Godzilla. Free her today.

Terry’s contributions to love and MMM. A lovely textured white on white, including lace, pearls, opalescent glazed ceramic heart, decorative papers, and fabric. A nice day for a white wedding. It’s been a little while since I’ve contributed to Mixed Media Monday, but I loved this idea. I am waiting for the kiln to open […]

In this art quilt, Nancy Smith incorporated a finished button collage card into this joyous mixed media beauty. The image on the left is a closeup showcasing much of the mixed media aspects, including the original EYembellishment collage, textured copper scrap, scrim, and coiled wire. On the right, is the entire piece. Click on photo […]

Now we have lots of butterflies, fish. whales, sharks, dolphins, hearts, faces, and trees. yea! Though there wont be many sets added to the on-line store till Sunday. Truth is I tried to kill another printer today. However, this was not one of my “what-if” attempts. I’ve come to realize that I react to machines, […]

Betsy’s challenge piece is featured for the start of the 3 day weekend. It has a joy of the outdoors, and it shows a unleashed joy of creating. Looking closely at this small quilt makes me want to go home and play with everything in reach. Betsy’s used stamped, printed, dyed, and painted tissue and […]

Newly pressed buttons pulled from the bisque firing, stacked and getting sorted into desired colors. 3 coats of glaze applied to each one, with an eyelash or cat’s whisker (just kidding – I use a regular old brush, but it sounded exotic). These piles will take me 2 days to glaze – there are more […]

Perfect representation of another hot summer night. Only two and a half months more of these. But plums and apples are maturing nicely. The sun and heat are good for somethings. This ceramic embellished collage is beautiful in person, with bronze glittery eyelash threads, and sparkly beads that look like stars. Viva La Luna!

It is either too hot to dream, or heat hallucinations do not stay in my memory long. Probably a good thing. Do most people dream of summer during the beautiful seasons? or dream of autumn, winter, and spring during summer? or lie under the plum tree and make themselves believe traffic noises are rolling waves […]

This week I was fortunate enough to have a test run for the upcoming Make It University, Long Beach. It was a really fun class. We went with one theme and a size smaller than we will with the MIU class, to ease me into the process. But I was thrilled with how different and […]

Kermit was wrong, it is easy being green. No hidden agenda here; I must have been in a green mood because most of the collages I listed in the store this morning seemed predominately verdigris hued. Perhaps, because it’s hot, and these cooler tones are more welcoming.

Taking a button collage, a shadow box type frame and one piece of coordinating fabric for the background, Terry made this simple picture. Easy peasy.

By request, we are getting better organized, and offering the buttons unmounted, in sets. My goal is to add more daily. What do you think? Click here to visit the store

This tray has a inset focal frame. We’ve taken a button collage and placed it into the frame. Decorative and utilitarian; and the collages can be switched out for parties, holidays, and whims.

We are listening: inquiries for “how do I use these collages?” are leading to multiple creation craziness. We have added greeting cards in the store, with more to follow. We will be showing many other ways to use both the buttons and the buttoned collages, all week long. The mixed media collages you see in […]
