Auditioning fabric for the beginning of my first wall hanging: working title “sun warmth”. I intend to post a small photo album here of the steps I take, successful or not. I also hope to include other’s finished projects. Nancy Smith of Great American Quilts has one or two in process and we are anxious […]

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. I’m really good at starting projects, not so good at finishing them. However, by posting the process, perhaps guilt will push me. This panel is an embellishment card that has been adhered to an old filing card that TT painted to coordinate. It is one simple […]

Earth day, but with minor effort, could be earth week, month, year, century. I am the proud new nurturer of 2 tiny little twig crabapples, that I will watch with unbridled glee, grow to be beautiful trees. The above card may be an odd pick for today, (and it does look much better in living […]

Many of us work 2 jobs in addition to care-taking, housekeeping, and creating or working on our craft. Why not hang up a little affirmation to allow yourself a wee luxury? Take your coffee back to bed. Soak in the bathtub till the water cools. Splurge on take-out. Sit and sip that hard earned martini […]

tickling the kids, cats purring, dogs sassing, paintbrush shushing on canvas, sewing needle in motion, sizzles from the wok, Joplin from the stereo. How do you make music? The soul needs it as much as the ear. Don’t forget to celebrate the magical qualities of the everyday, ordinary, music. Feed your soul.

An honor: personable and talented Alex Anderson was the first customer in our booth in Chicago on preview night. Here she is with my mama-san, (TT is on the left). To add to her glowing and generous personality, Alex has the most beautiful complexion I have ever seen. I am so jealous. See Alex at: […]

Whatever you create, or hope to someday create, we’ve got a handful of affirmations and reminders for all types. Hang or frame them where they will be seen daily. It will be your permission to feed your creative soul. Click on photo to see the album.

Sheesh, these girls are in such a hurry to get to Chicago, they haven’t sewn on my face yet. Kinda scary cause the cats can abscond with my eyeballs! At least they gave me lush grass to await their administrations. But they’re giving me a posse this weekend. Lovely girls, grrrrrrr

Introducing Thing and Thang. Twins that recently joined our cult of mixed media play. I was going to tie down their hair, but decided that their adopted parent should decide, but I had lots of fun playing beauty parlor with them (much more engaging than playing beauty parlor with Joey, my cat).

Admit it, we all feel better when we are dressed in our finest. Now that it is spring, treat yourself to a new hairdo, and a prettily colored outfit. It was a difficult winter, so celebrate spring, and let all who look upon your glory bask in your glow.

Who wants the current economic stick? Let’s all dream of a great big carrot instead. I mean, if you’re going to dream, dream big, right? I’m seeing a trend with myself lately, so much dreaming, I better get to work on getting ready for the Chicago International Quilt festival instead.

Dreams are like children, they need to be released to be able to mature. But how do we dream? We dream asleep of course, and when bored with mundane tasks, but also with intent when we dare to create. In fact I believe we could substitute “dream” with “what if…”. What if I used green […]
