Road Trip memories Part I

Chino Hills

The Sibs, Sis and Bro, and their creation Frankie Uber-Navigator, center - with compass ball on his head, had successfully reached Anonymous A.P.’s lovely home in Chino Hills. After the splendor of the Rocky Mountain’s western slope and it’s fresh produce, and the austere beauty of the desert, they enjoyed this sunset. Quiet time before set-up at the Long Beach Convention Center’s 1st International Quilt Festival at that venue.

Click on the sunset picture to see the first installment of their road trip photo album. There will a couple more albums featured on upcoming Sundays. I still giggle each time I view these. I hope you enjoy them as much. love and frivolity. michele and the Sibs.

Long Beach quilt festival here we come

family of creatures on road trip

Meet Frankie, uber-navigator extraordinaire. Says he knows the way to the quilt festival in Long Beach. He seems to have a great sense of direction (might be because Sis sewed a compass on top of his head). Oh did I mention he loves popcorn.

Frankensibs

mouthHaving quickly learned of their poor navigation skills, the siblings, Sis and Bro, made quick work out of constructing their own uber-navigator.

The Road Trip to Long Beach is back on track.

Through the dessert and over the pass…

Somewhere west of the rockies

Sunny and sis

Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain.
Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain.
The dark days are gone, and the bright days are here,
My Sunny one shines so sincere.
Sunny one so true, I love you.

Sis and Bro show prep

packing collagesAfter being left in Colorado instead of beholding the beauty of Chicago, Sis and Bro declared their willingness to earn their own way on the next International Quilt Festival trip.

They began by packing the display suitcases full of finished collage cards. bro supervising Bro is explaining the technique he would like Sis to use. Notice he’s talking, she’s working.

The increased gas consumption based on their combined weight is going to be outrageous, so they will need to work diligently. It was hard for their ice chest loadingtiny little bodies to load the car, but it was just too hot for T and I to do.

Great job, little ones. Now we all sleep well. We leave at 5am.
