Newly pressed buttons pulled from the bisque firing, stacked and getting sorted into desired colors. 3 coats of glaze applied to each one, with an eyelash or cat’s whisker (just kidding – I use a regular old brush, but it sounded exotic). These piles will take me 2 days to glaze – there are more flats of glazing in process off camera.
A rare glimpse into the inner sanctum of the glazing room. I hope it was interesting for you. But the real joy for me will be in a few days when each one of these buttons has been glazed and fired and dazzling for the kiln opening. Kiln openings for me are like red carpet moments: “oh wow”, then a Snoopy dance. Hopefully you will check back in to see the Wow.
