Sis and Bro don’t watch television, though they are rooting for the Cardinals. So as all children do, they went to play in the local construction zone.

welcome to the danger zone
Bro was apprehensive about going inside. Sis was eager to get out, so she put those teeth to good use, and chewed her way out.

Restoring democracy and civil liberties. Throw in condemning torture. Okay, our risks needn’t be so dramatic. Maybe start with learning the tourist basics of a foreign language, and actually practice it with a native speaker. All beginnings are good.

Time to dream, and believe, because outrageous dreams do come true.
Time to renew, progress and move forward, not backward. For hope and rebuilding.

Celebrating the glory of a new era, and the spendor of nature.

I am everywhere. Open your eyes to the wonder and the magical.

I’ll just stand out of the way and observe.

Everyone on your feet. Rise and Holler!

Just in time for a self prescribed Valentine’s treat:
Artunraveled will have the class descriptions up on January 20th, with sign ups in February. Artunraveled is my favorite art camp. The offered classes are always tantalizing and the venue is my favorite.
There is a spectacular list of instructors lined up for this year. I haven’t attended the last 2 years, and that makes me grumpy. But I recommend this to everyone: Check out the class descriptions and pick some out. Pretend you are attending the classes, gather materials and supplies, check out instructors books, if available and play. It is not the same as attending, but it’s better than pouting.

Thought provoking topic over at Fibra Artysta regarding focus versus exploration. Well, that is my interpretation of that specific post. What if artisans and crafters did not venture beyond one theme or medium? The human race would still be living in caves drawing with charcoal bits from last night’s fire.
As to the talented Lynn, I believe her explorations will just lead to greater creations and an exciting life long body of work. Her writing, photography, collages, art quilts, and fiber arts expands her interpretation of the world and ours. Why should enthusiasm and talent be reigned in?
Personally, I flit between quilting, painting, assemblage, ceramics, drawing… My ADD may take the time of minutes, and years. Heck, I’ve gone over a decade before returning to drawing and quilting. It’s all a process: life and art. Explore, attempt, learn, grow. Follow through with that What if… thought, I’ll be here waiting to see what happens.

Sis has been seeking the answers to what the new year holds for us.
What those answers are, I do not know; she is not telling me. She’s keeping it a surprise.

Expressly Yours (the day-job) has been working on the samples for the new everyday line we’re calling Flourish. Sparked by positive reactions to the affirming embellished collages, we are hoping to bring a gentle reminder to each meal. And a fresh outlook for the new year.
Thank you for the feedback, the first samples are being shipped out but we plan on having pieces available in the on-line stores, here and at EYSTUDIO. We will also be pleased to accommodate special orders: special words, names, colors.
A huge thank you to Bubba for the last two posts.

Basket o Sibs
Bad mother! Last week I neglected the Sibs, so to atone, we went all out. Trip to the laundromat. It was like a circus! I think they enjoyed it, even the tumbles in the dryers.

children not allowed in dryers
It wasn’t until it was too late I saw the sign that children are not allowed to play in the dryers. oops.
Go to the Sibs Sunday tab at the top to see more of their latest adventure, or click on the main photo at the top. I hope you enjoy as much as they did.

The new plan to survive the month of December: Baby Steps.
Squeeze a minute in to paint here.
Sit to sew for 10 minutes there.
Eat holiday cookies while slurping morning coffee.
