Stuie the woodland nymph

stuie nymph

This is my little buddy, Stuie. He accompanied me home after taking a workshop at Artfest, with Liz McGrath. He must have emerged from the beautiful woods with the local deer that share Port Townsend, WA with the mortals.

Stuie is a working nature talisman. Since sharing my home, he has brought me honey bees living in my walls, and recently, 3 baby birds nesting on the wreath hanging on my front door. I didn’t dare use my front door for the last month; I stood on the back of my couch to peak out the window twice a day, to watch their growth, all the while singing 3 little birds, the Bob Marley song. They flew off to their destiny yesterday, so I know every little thing is going to be alright. I am concerned with the honey bee hive growing in size, but with their little hard working souls in jeopardy, I can live with it (I hope). love and lilacs, myc

May 12th, 2008 Update: Stuie is not all precious and light. He has also led a baby rattlesnake and a handful of mice into the basement. Little devious green trickster!
